Dr. Reid Turner is a fellow-trained cornea and refractive surgeon specializing in laser-assisted cataract surgery, LASIK, ocular resurfacing, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He has been a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons since 2014. A native of Des Moines, Dr. Turner attended Central College in Iowa. He obtained his medical degree with distinction in teaching from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Dr. Turner completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. While in residency he received the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Resident Excellence Award for his research evaluating the safety and efficacy of laser-assisted cataract surgery. He completed his fellowship training at UT Southwestern in Dallas. During his training Dr. Turner traveled to Israel on a medical missions trip to perform corneal transplants at the St. Johns Eye Hospital.
